ABOUT GourmetCasaKitchen.com

I founded GourmetCasaKitchen.com in 2010 as a way to share my favorite recipes with friends and family. Since then GourmetCasaKitchen.com has grown to become a trusted source of tried-and-true recipes and reaches over 2 million readers per month.

GourmetCasaKitchen.com features easy Instant Pot recipes, slow cooker recipes, plus other favorites such as Baked Chicken Parmesan, Lasagna and Healthy Banana Bread. I carefully test each recipe before it is shared with you until I’m confident that you’ll have a delicious result when you try the recipe in your own kitchen.

I am a mom of five young children, a wife, and a former elementary school teacher with a master’s degree in math and science education. Even though life is busy, I prioritize cooking a homemade dinner for my family every night.

As my family grew, I found it was increasingly difficult to balance each of my roles as mom, wife, teacher and blogger. I wanted to feed my family nutritious, home-cooked meals but finding the time to do so was not easy. So I worked to create delicious recipes that don’t require you to spend all day in the kitchen. I believe that mealtime is a way to bring the family together. My passion is to show that cooking at home can be easy, and fun!

I enjoy recreating classic favorite recipes, figuring out ways to simplify and lighten them up while still preserving the same deep, delicious flavor as the originals.

I learned a lot about planning and organization as an elementary school teacher. The skills I practiced as a teacher have become a great asset to me in teaching other busy home cooks how to meal plan and get homemade meals on their tables.

One of the best compliments that I’ve received again and again is that my recipes are clear and easy to follow. I credit this to my teaching background – I’ve had lots of practice explaining things in a way that makes them easy to understand!

My food philosophy centers around eating whole, unprocessed foods as much as possible. But, just like you, I live a full, busy life and can’t make everything from scratch all the time. My recipes include ingredients such as real butter, whole milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and meats, alongside a few healthier convenience foods such as frozen vegetables and store-bought marinara sauce.
